Galaxy s7 edge fingerprint detection-does it work well?

I tried the fingerprint security on my S5 and almost locked myself out completely. Therefore, I don't use Samsung Pay or Google Pay or any of those. I just use my debit card. Does fingerprint detection and recognition work better on the Galaxy S7 Edge than it did on the S5?

If it doesn't I'll probably just get an iPhone instead.
