i have a galaxy s4 i cant get any bars no calls or text .my service is up to date

my nephew gave me the phone it was a verizon i purchased a straight talk sim card for the phone and it worked perfectly . like i said over night i lost all signal .only have a x beside where the bars are at .i also had to buy a new sim card reader i installed it and put straight talk sim in the phone it worked great .i have been on my daughters phone with straight talk for around a combined 4.5 hours . they finally gave up .and im about to and just buy a new phone .can anyone help

All I can think of is that the phone may not have need unlocked. Youll need to contact Verizon for unlocking support.
