Gear S from 3rd party still work

[AC Question]

Can I buy the Gear S from Amazon or Ebay for my husband and it work perfectly with my AT&T Galaxy S7? Would I have to pay per month? Do I have to add it to my phone plan? Or can I buy it for $300 and sync it to his phone and be done with it.

You can run it on Bluetooth paired to the s7 without having to pay a monthly subscription.
