Galaxy S7 Shutter sound, but no picture captured

Frequently when I take a picture, I hear the shutter sound after pressing to snap a picture. But when I go to the gallery, there is nothing there. I have missed many shots because I assume I capture the photo when I heard the click. Is there a way to fix this? Has been happening for more than a month and it becoming more frequent.

As a diagnostic, try using another camera app from the Play Store. Tell us what that does.
Also, are you using an SD card?
