For some reason my HTC M8 will not use my SD Card for storage. I have to manually put stuff there using Windows and having the Card as Mass Storage.
HTC Sync Manager is no better either. Just ignores the Card and fills up the internally memory with Music till its full and then whinges.
I can drop Music on the SD Card via Windows but that is it. Music player sees the music.
I tried formatting as internal but this didn't help. So went back to format as external and drop music on myself. So frustrating as this didnt happen on my M7.
    What am I doing wrong?

Card is Kingston and genuine. Bought it from Ebuyer not off Ebay, so its fine.
OS is Marshmellow 6.0 which is the latest you can get with HTC M8 unbranded.
    I dont understand it.

Have you used the app SD Insight to check if it's legit?

I'm not a developer or anything but I use the app all the time. I've had issues with some SD cards and this app at least checks if legit.

    1. Nothing wrong with Kingston - nothing guaranteed right with it either. Samsung and SanDisk (the inventor of the technology) make the chips, companies like Kingston buy them and put them into cards.

    2. Some apps just won't run from the card. If the developer knows what he's doing, he'll turn off that ability so you CAN'T move the app to the card, then complain to him that it doesn't run from the card. (More and more apps, using more and more libraries, can't run from the card.) You can't change that, even if you could unlock the ability to move the app - it just won't run from the card.

Never said anything was wrong with kingston. I've had Kingston sd cards before work just fine.

Just making sure it is a legit Kingston sdcard.

Way too many fakes being sold in this day and age.

Gotcha. And SD Insight is exactly the way to do that.
