    Google chrome web browser pops up with message that a virus will affect your battery in a certain amount of time unless you download an app from the playstore.

    I hope someone answers this .... My wife and my son's phones are doing the same thing. About a week after my son's phone did this... it started rebooting itself every couple of minutes.

    Do you remember what app it was telling you to download?

    I received the com-.z.mobi virus notice on my Android phone just now. The message was,..to go to Google Play and download the application for that virus.

    Yes, technically speaking, it's adware, but since the message is false, deal with it as suggested in my post above.
