I'm looking to upgrade to a s7 edge. My local carrier, bluegrass cellular does not have the edge version available yet, and won't until July or so I was told. I've seen where best buy offers unlocked versions but they say they aren't cdma compatible. I asked a "technician" if I were to buy a verizon s7e and have it unlocked if it would work and he said I would have trouble with mms, and other features. Are they blowing smoke or will I have to wait till July to buy bluegrass version of the s7e. Please advise.

The CDMA versions are "locked" by not having their IMEI numbers in the carrier's database. So you buy a Verizon or Sprint phone, but Bluegrass won't activate it. (The MMS problem is trivial - add another APN, put in Bluegrass' information and switch to using that one.) So yes, he's blowing smoke, but there's nothing you can do unless Bluegrass will activate the phone you buy (Sprint or Verizon).
