On the android device manager "lock" feature, will the new password you choose become permanent?

Basically my question is, when you set a new password through the lock feature, will that become your new phone password (unless you change it)? Or will it be a temporary one that will automatically change back to the original after one use? I don't wanna get locked out.

The old password will be gone when you create a new one, and the new password will remain until you change it. A new password is not a one time thing.
Word of advice... use a password you've VERY familiar with. Way too many posts on this board about forgotten passwords.
