Just trying to find out which one charges my galaxy s4 better. I have a dual port charger with both 1a & 2.4a chargers

Depends on how fast you want to charge the device. It may get hot if you charge it fast...try them both..

Plus it wouldn't really matter if you pit the 2.4a. The phone has an internal limiter which halts the volume of the current going to what level the phone wants. Your 2.4a charger will jusy get really hot because of the excess current the phone won't be accepting. It may still charge faster. Don't know what max current the S4 has. Tablets usually are 2.1a

It also depends on how much current the phone is designed to draw. If it's limited to 1A, it won't draw more than 1A, even if the charger is capable of 10,000A. The S4 should draw about 2.1A max, so a 2A charger will take a few minutes longer to charge it. A 2.4A charger will be supplying 2.1A, so a. it'll run cooler and b. it won't break down from being called on to supply more current than it can.
