Recovering SMS messages from the Secure Box

[AC Question]

I have an old HTC Desire 816 and recently, I mistakenly moved a whole string of texts with someone to the Secure Box. When I went to the Secure Box to get them out, it asked me for a password. I've tried EVERYTHING, but nothing is working and I CANNOT lose those texts. Can anyone help me and explain it in non-technical terms?? I'm not very tech savvy.

1. If you CANNOT lose the texts, you should have made a backup. (SMS to Text makes it trivial.)

2. Try setting up a password. If that doesn't work, you need a Linux expert who's familiar with SQL to recover them.
