Copy SMS conversations to SIM card?

A

AC Question

I need to change my phone due to some problems (constant freezing not solved even after factory reset) and I really want not to lose a few SMS conversations on it and have them on the new phone. Isn't there any way to simply do this via transfer to the SIM card, which will be moved into the new phone? Or how? I only see options for each message individually, which is impossible. Why didn't they just make Copy to SIM available for whole conversations? :(

Because it can't fit into a SIM card. A SIM card can only hold like 64bits of information, or around 150 sms parts. It can't hold pictures, and a single messaging thread for one person can hold way more than that.

You can use an app to backup your SMS, and use that app again to restore on a new phone. or if you have a Samsung phone, you can backup to your Samsung account or use Smart Switch to migrate over to a new phone (as long as it's Samsung too). LG also has a tool for this but I forgot it's name.
