Why does my Samsung Galaxy S7 has worse reception and data download speeds than my older phone.

A

AC Question

I had a Moto X, and the data download speed stays consistent - around 3 Mbs p/s, while my Galaxy S7 fluctuates between 200 kb - 1Mb per second. It is an international version and I bought it from Newegg, from a reputable seller (99% approval rate on Amazon - ThePowerSellers). The reception also fluctuates between no bars and 3 bars, in contrast to my Moto X - which consistently stays at 3 bars. I have contacted my carrier - which is T-Mobile and informed me that it's most likely a manufacturer problem. I tested the download/upload speed on a mobile app and I got around 4mb/s and .7mb/s, however, it does not translate to the results. Sorry for any naiveness and thank you!

Hi, it could be down to the fact you bought the phone internationally instead of locally. There are different models of each phone dependent on location. are you able to obtain a refund and buy the device from your carrier?
