Nexus 5 charging problem

Bit long this but here goes, i had the screen repaired on my Nexus 5, the shop rang me and said the battery needed replacing as it was not responding to charge, ok i said replace it (although i thought it was ok before) when i got it back i connected it to a charger and it showed the charging symbol ie the zig zag/lightening thing across the battery it wasn't charging, left it charging for 2hours , wouldn't charge up, took the back off and checked the battery and it was a new one , any ideas why its not responding anybody?

They disconnected something inside. Now they get to do it over, until they get it right.
