Why can't I update my galaxy note 4 to 5.1.1?

I have a galaxy note 4 from att and it's running lollipop 5.0.1 but I checked online and it's saying that att released 5.1.1 for the note 4. But each time I goto "check for new update" it keeps saying it's up to date. My friend has the same phone with same carrier and he has 5.1.1 why cant I update my phone?

Updates are released in batches (if they had to update a few thousand phones at once, the internet would grind to a halt). You'll just have to wait until your number comes up. (Don't try to update more than once every 24 hours - even if there is an update ready for you, if it's been less than 24 hours since your last try, you'll get the same "no update available" message - same reason too.)
