Note 4 responds to s pen but not fingers

My note 4 responds to the stylus but not my fingers. Once in awhile it'll work when rebooted but will only work till the screen times out. I've factory reset and tried safe mode even after that. To no avail. Is the digitizer probably shot and working intermittently?

That's probably a problem on the motherboard, since rebooting doesn't affect the digitizer itself. (The S-Pen doesn't interact with the digitizer, there's a separate layer n the screen for the pen.)
