Serious lagging, random commercials

[AC Question]

My note 2 has become so slow, no idea why. I've ran practically every malware and ad scanner out there, in addition to Antivirus scanners. Even this msg is taking forever to type, locking up constantly. I've also began having commercials pop up when I open Firefox or clash of Clans, or even music. Can anyone help with telling me how to locate the source of these ads? Notification detector won't show it, nothing else much helps either.

Hi, try booting the device into safe mode - if the problem disappears then you know it's being caused by a 3rd party app you have installed. Failing that you might want to consider a factory reset to freshen up your phone as it's rather old. Bare in mind a reset will wipe your data off the phone so back it up before hand.
