Gmail password question

A

AC Question

This is only loosely related to Android, but I'm sure there are experts here that can help. I have a personalized email address (let's say it's myname@yourdog.com) from our company that is connected to gmail. I set it up on my Samsung but now cannot remember the password and wanted to access the account on my laptop. I've read that the actual password isn't stored on the phone; just a hash to be able to call the password from google's servers. Short of getting IT involved to reset the password, is there a way to gain access from the laptop? Resetting the password from gmail won't work (tried, they say contact IT). If I were to back up the phone to the laptop, is there anyway to do it from there?
