How can I charge my S5 with a broken charge port?

I've seen videos of other phones being charged by cutting up a usb cable and I've tried, but it doesn't seem to work. Another video I saw on youtube shows touching the red and black wires to pins that are just covered up by the back cover and not where the battery pins are. Can anyone give me some advice? Need this phone working for my job and it's already been dead for a week. TIA!!!

Repair the charging port or buy a new phone. What you're talking about is dangerous.

I agree with Assassin Droid: get a loaner or new phone and don't try anything like that with your device. You could get hurt!
