How can i transfer photos and vids from broken phone to my pc

Hi
Crushed phone in reclining chair. it will switch on but no screen. my pc finds the phone but cant download anything as phone is locked. pc says no pics or vids found on device. cant get into settings or phone or anything. never been backed up. how can I get pictures off phone before sending it for repair (they will wipe phone).

If you can't start it up and unlock screen to allow PC to see files, they are gone.
