When an external keyboard is attached does it disable the built in Android pop up keyboard?

Can you use a mouse with a tablet?

Can you have more than one peripheral attached to a tablet ? (I.e. mouse and keyboard)

Can't answer without knowing what tablet you have. If it supports OTG you can connect mouse and keyboard.

So it connects into the headphone jack? Can you have more than one item through a USB extension for example a mouse and a keyboard?

OTG cables connect to the tablet's microUSB port, not the headphone jack. I believe there are Y-adapters for OTG cables that allow you to use more than one device, but I'm not sure.

I know that with Bluetooth keyboards, the onscreen touch keyboard is disabled. I would guess it's the same for USB keyboards connected via OTG.
