Officers phone will not open Google play. Also Google does not recognize my phone only Acer tablet?

Any time I try to upload a Zedge ringtone or down load an app it automatically goes to my Acer tablet. Google only recognizes my tablet and not my phone

Welcome to Android Central! Are you using the Google Play Store website on your computer to install apps? If so, why not just use the Google Play Store app on the phone? Or is that what you're doing?

Which phone is it? Did it come with Google Play Store preinstalled, or did you have to install it manually?

On the phone, go to Settings>Accounts. ​Is your Google account listed there?
