I'm either planning on picking up a U.S manufacture refurbish LG G4 to use on Rogers Canadian network or purchasing an Zenfone 3 when it is available sometime in August (various Canadian retailers sell Asus phones unlocked).
I'm asking for general opinion on which one I should get especially if you have experience with LG G4 or Asus pass phone zenfone 2 (or both).
The new snapdragon 625 in the zenfone 3 is a 14nm octa-core cortex a53 chip which seems to have better multi core performance than the sd 808. It being 14nm vs 20nm it probably consumes less energy too.
The zenfone 3 camera (16MP Sony IMX298, f2.0 aperture) performance on the other hand probably at best would match the LG G4 and most likely will be slightly worst.
The large unknown with comparing these phones would be software optimization and likelihood of software updates.
