Spilled water on Galaxy s3 and now wont charge

While I was sleeping I had my phone on the charger and I usually have a cup of water with a lid on it next to my bed and my phone was kind of close and while I was sleeping my pillow fell on the cup and it leaked on my phone not a lot but when i woke up it was wet and it was no longer charging so i took it into the bathroom and dried it off on the outside and the inside. Now when ever I plug it in it says "battery disconnected" and will not charge at all it will just beep and flashing the notification. What can I do to fix it I don't have enough money to buy a new phone.

It's possible that leaving it in silica gel or dry rice, if you can afford those, for several days might get it working, but not necessarily for long. Repeated swishing in alcohol baths first might help, if you can afford the alcohol, though by now it may be too late.
