Why is my S7 Edge screen white and green?

My S7 Edge randomly started flashing a green or white screen when I would hit the home button. At first a simple lock and re open would fix it, but now it's constantly green or white. If I lock/unlock it a few times (few being 10 or more) it will work normally for about 2 seconds before going back to white or green. I can still sort of see behind the white (using muscle memory and my face an inch away from the screen). Also the touch screen still works as I can unlock the phone with my finger print, I just can't see anything. I am still under the factory warranty and a new phone is en route, I am just concerned that it is possibly water damage and my warranty will be void leaving me with a $700 fee. Does it sound like water damage? Or maybe a drop broke a bulb? (Or whatever powers these beast displays nowadays) If it helps, when the "always on display" is up, it reads perfectly fine.

I tried a soft and hard reset to no avail.
