is there an easy way to recover photo files on Note4 after Marshmallow update moved them?

Marshmallow update on Note4 relocated about half of my photo folders on the SD card to the DCIM/CAMERA level and renamed them all "camera" so when I look at Gallery, I now have 50 folders called "camera". It seems that I cam move them back to root level one-by-one and then delete the "camera" dups but tedious. Any other easier way ? thanks
