why touch screen stop reacting without damage?

After start up a phone a touch screen stop reacting.What couse these?Can be a Bug?or serious problem?works only bottoms vol.up,down and power bottom

The digitiser could have failed.

Since the physical buttons are working, try a Cache Partition wipe.

I met situation like that.after start up touch screen not response.In my case change was nice try a change android soft from other device,unfortunetly every android comand is fit by device.that mean if once you have like somple nexus 5" and want put in android soft from example samsung 7" your comand to work propely,is missing 2" inch.and than android appear error or DISABLE touch panel.
