Empty signal indicator even when I have a signal?

A

AC Question

I just bought an S7 edge, and have noticed that (at home at least) the signal indicator where the bars are (the grey triangle) is often empty (it fluctuates between this and 3 bars). I can still use 4G, and I can make calls and texts (though they seem to have very long delays between being received/dialing).

The 4G seems to be very fast, so it doesn't appear as if there is a problem with the connection. Why is the signal strength indicator empty (I thought it turned into a crossed circle if there was no signal?), and is there any reason calls and texts take a long time to be received be other people?

Your signal may be varying. Speak to your carrier about it.

Also, do the bars agree with the signal strength indicated in Settings, About Phone, Network?
