Alright, so my girlfriend broke her phone. Absolutely nothing fancy, just a tiny Desire 526 to hold her off until she got whatever phone she wanted (probably an iPhone, grumble grumble). She got another Desire 526, because it was next-to-nothing dirt cheap, and then found out she couldn't use it because the device has Reset Protection and she doesn't have the info for the last account used on the phone (for obvious reasons). I've gone into H Boot but the factory reset option isn't there (presumably because of Reset Protection?) and I'm now at a lost for what to do. I can't get into the phone and I can't reset it manually. I've considered flashing the device altogether but I don't have much experience with flashing.

Without the previous owner's account information, that phone will never work again. My advice is not to waste your time. It's a security measure

That's unfortunate. I wish she had told me she had bought the phone so we could've returned it immediately. I didn't even know she had the phone until three weeks after she had gotten it.

Sorry to give you bad news. She's not the first to have everything encountered this. You will see many similar posts here.
