Galaxy Note 4 Some Settings and Apps missing?

[AC Question]

Just bought a refurbished Note 4 and noticed the "Applications" tab of my settings doesnt exist preventing me from changing default applications. Also I have no Samsung Galaxy Apps store but I can still use the gifts and essentials widgets?

I'm running Android 5.0.1

Could these issues be related to the condition of the phone? (refurbished)

Have you tried to update the software? Or have you done a hard reset when you first received it?

Hi this is the guy who made the post, I got an account now.

I've checked for updates and none are available and I factory reset my device the day after I got it when I noticed the missing apps. This didn't resolve the issue. I cant manually update the device either as my PC refuses to connect to it.

Bring it into a Best Buy store (in the UK, I think it's called Cellphone Warehouse) or your carrier if they're good - and ask if they could please flash the current OS for you. (You'll lose all your downloaded data, apps, etc., but you'll have a working phone.)
