Hi, so when you plug the phone into the computer, does nothing show up on the phone or the computer? have you tried installing the necessary drives?

Hi folks, perfect thread. My Windows 10 PC and new Galaxy S7 don't quite go all the way together. When I plug in the USB sometimes I get the "click here to choose what to do" message, but not always; or...I plug in the phone and get the Windows photo window immediately, over-layed with a "there's nothing to import" message. I do get an icon for the phone in Devices and Drives. When I right click on it and choose "transfer pictures and videos" the green status bar starts then stops quickly with, basically, a "nothing found here" message. When I open the phone's folder in Devices and Drives it is empty. Also, when I go to "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" the phone is not listed. The phone appears to be there and not there! I need to be able to quickly take and transfer photos and other files from my phone directly to PC. Grabbing from the cloud works but is cumbersome and the files are not always there yet. I would be grateful for a little guidance, thanks!!
