Help recover photos of LG G4 that is frozen in boot mode (not looping)

I am looking for a way to recover photos on my LG G4 that is stuck on the boot logo "LG Life Is Good" screen. It is not in a boot loop...just frozen. I have done the battery, taken out SIM, tried the power/down button simultaneously, etc. Several times I did get the screen of options to safe mode, reset, wipe cache, etc...but it then shuts down. I have Verizon and they are sending a new one but I want to try and recover photos before I send the old one back. I bought phone 9/8/15, it is a 1.0. Not going to bake it or freeze it, just want pictures. Ideas that work?

Hi, if you can't get the phone to power up and you didn't back up the photos to a cloud storage or SD card then you probably won't retrieve them from the broken phone. When you tried safe mode, did it power up then shut down? was the device needing a charge?
