I can't turn on my android tablet

I had it charging and the usb lead burned out /died and blew the USB port on my sofa too can the tablet be fixed ?

Its quite possible, but I would recommend sending it in for repair. Normally, changing the USB port is quite simple, but the short could have affected other parts of the device.
