I'm hoping someone can help me with my problem. I'm using stock android and recently there's been a daily alarm popping up at midnight, although I don't have any alarms set and no other apps using an alarm to my knowledge.

When it hits midnight nothing happens except the day changes of the alarm, no sound or notification even appears.

I've booted into safe mode and the problem disappears so has to be due to an app surely or a bug, but I just can't find it. Any ideas?

Won't let me post link to screenshots marks as spam

    Thanks in advance

Hello Tom, welcome to the forums. I remember reading about a similar issue some time ago. The culprit was a note taking app, To Do Remainder IIRC. Just in case, check the settings in any similar app that you have installed.

Hello and thanks for linking screenshots and for the reply.

The only note taking app I have is Google Keep. I had no reminders on this but deleted just in case and the problem is still there so defiantly not that app either. I've deleted others too so can eliminate then from the problem too. Some I don't want to delete due to loss of data, but even so they don't even have any kind of alarm or reminders within them. So confused.

What device do you have? In some phones you can easily access your notification log and see if that alarm is registered there. Try this. Long press on your home screen, tap on widgets, scroll down until you find 'settings', tap & hold on it and drag it to the screen, select 'notification log'. Once you created the widget tap on it and search for that alarm to get more information. In some phones you'll need a custom launcher to create this widget.

    Thanks again.

Found the widget and no notification for alarm. This makes sense seeing as when the time comes there's no physical notification for it. Why I'm having trouble finding out what it is. I changed the time on my phone to force the alarm to change, but like I say no notification just stays and changes the day, stays at midnight.
I have Moto G 1st gen with stock android no root.

Never mind found the problem, an app I use has reminders but I never set them. Turns out it had an update the other day which I was unaware of. The update glitched out and made this alarm but ineffective. So much hassle for something so little and silly as that. "Water drink reminder". Thing is I barely even use the app anymore as well.
Thanks for the help though and the notification log could come in handy for future use.

Glad you managed to find it! What app was it? It could be very helpful for future reference.

Oh! I thought that was the notification description not the app itself. Thanks.
