On my Note 5 why don't my existing contacts update (sometimes) when I edit them?

For example, with a Google and Cloud contact, I created custom labels for the 2 phone numbers in had for the contact but when I saved, the new labels did not show up.

What is not showing up? Are you editing on a PC/Mac and it's not showing up on the phone, OR editing on the phone and not showing up on the computer? OR editing on the phone and it's just not saving? If it's between devices maybe you are just not giving the "cloud" enough time to work it's magic? It can take up to a day for info to sync between devices.
