"Couldn't connect to google servers" Brand new Galaxy tab A

I just bought a brand new galaxy tab A from Walmart today, and when I tried to start it up, it had me enter my samsung account which was fine, but then it was going to ask about google, and i get the same error every time I try something related to google. It just says it Couldn't connect to google servers and to try again later. I've factory reset the device 3 times with no luck, I've tried deleting the cache and data from the google apps, I've tried loggin in through youtube, and none of the tips i found here or any other site don't seem to work. I have a perfect wifi connection and i can browse on chrome with no trouble, but as soon as my account needs to be entered it wont let me try, just goes back to the error. Any help is greatly appreciated.
