i had taken backup from sony xperia z3 to sd card but the files are unable to open even in computer

I transferred all photos and videos to my SD card as received the warning that my internal memory was approaching capacity. Now I cannot see any of the photos or videos transferred, and when I put them onto on pc they just appear as blank files, although each file clearly has data within it as the file sizes remain.

There is nothing wrong with the SD card.

Does anyone have an explanation for this or any method for viewing those image files?

My guess is there is an issue with the sd card. Pop it in a card reader insert in pc and locate it in Windows Explorer. Right click, select properties, select tools tab and check for errors. Hopefully this will cure the problem. Your data will be safe

Where did you purchase this SD card? Many cards sold on eBay are counterfeit.
