Change google keyboard from qwerty to azerty but WITHOUT changing the dictionary language?

Hi,
I want an azerty keyboard, but with English dictionary suggestions and corrections. I use my phone for writing in English or French. I change the dictionary language when I switch, but I don't want to keep changing the keyboard layout too! Seems like a no-brainer as many people speak two languages but usually learn to type on one specific keyboard.

My preferred keyboard app is Google keyboard, but I'll switch if anyone knows of an app that can do this.

Welcome to the forums. Try this. Open Google keyboard, long press on the 'comma', tap on Google keyboard settings, preferences, customised input style, select English, select Azerty, add. Tell us how it goes.
