    Are you saying that disabling notification from your messaging app. doesn't stop them?
    Or are you trying to disable just one particular notice?

    Hi. Just one post. There's a constant 1 on the msg icon. Indicating I have a new msg. Can't get rid of it.

    Welcome to the forums. What phone do you have? You could try clearing cached data in settings - storage and then restart the phone.

    If you store a lot of emails in your inbox, you may want to scroll through the list, there may be one unopened email from a few days ago (or weeks, months).

    Welcome to Android Central! This kind of thing happens from time to time. You might have to clear the homescreen launcher's cache/data (which wipes the homescreen, meaning you have to set up your icons again). Go to Settings>Apps, select Launcher (or whatever it's called--it could be something like Home), the Clear Cache/Clear Data. Now go back to the homescreen, and set it up again the way you had it before.
