Note 4 Notification readout greyed out. Running Android 6.01.

[AC Question]

I've tried switching to Driving Mode but you can't adjust settings in that mode.
I've used the Google Text to Speech, Samsung High Quality and standard voice.
This happened after the latest security update that reset my phone (Handy!)
Someone help please, it's driving me nuts!!!!

Welcome to Android Central! What do you mean that the readout is greyed out? Do you mean that the screen is showing everything in black & white or grey-scale?

If that's the same issue I've got then what they mean is that:

Although the notifications are there under
System>Language and input>Notification readout
(Then lists "calls from favourite contacts", "Msgs from priority senders", "Emails from priority contacts", S Planner event info", "Alarm info")
with a tick box beside each option..... the tick box is not selectable. No matter how many time you click it, how long you click it for..... that little box doesn't show a tick in it.

I've read that if you click on the Hands-Free mode it works...... but the last update took away hands-free and replaced it with the "Car Mode" which is great...... for when in the car.

I used to love being able to judge how many "Snoozes" I could get away with...... now I have to open my eyes and look at the time. :'( #FWP
