Is my repair faulty

I had my screen and lcd replaced worked fone was very happy with the job... until the next day when i noticed a crack in my lcd screen. I jave returned it to the shop where he has informed me it was a stress crack and is not covered by warranty. I said fine walked 50meters up the road and asked how much it would cost for a new lcd screen as i had just had ut replaced yesterday she looked at my phone and said it was not a stress crack but that when they replaced the screen he has not removed all the glass and when the screen has been pressed it broke the screen. Does this sound right?
