Samsung Galaxy S7 will not sync emails with Outlook

Samsung Galaxy S7 will not sync emails with my home Outlook. I'm using the email app that came with the phone...icon looks like a white envelope with red @ sign in it. Have setup account numerous times and yet it will not consistently work. Went to Verizon store and did manual setup with Verizon tech, got home, email worked for a while then stopped syncing again. I have a Cox email account at home using Outlook at home.
