Since upgrading my phone from an S4 to the S7 I have noticed that when I enter appointments on my S7 they do not sync to my work outlook calendar, what am I missing?

I find that, having installed my MS accounts under Microsoft Exchange (otherwise, syncing is not possible at all), I have to force a sync of the calendar via Accounts > Microsoft Exchange Active Sync - then the S Planner and Outlook calendars appear to sync.

It's annoying that Android does not allow users to edit outlook entries direct using the Outlook app., instead of forcing people to use the likes of S Planner and the default Contacts app. to do the editing. I came from Windows phone (a smoother experience, obviously, in terms of Outlook syncing), to the Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016), and I do find it annoying the hoops needed to keep using Outlook efficiently on Android.
