phone wont connect to computer

[AC Question]

why wont my phone connect to the USB? It has worked before, but this time when i plugged it in, it only charged. There was not a notification or op up if my hone being connected at all. If any one knows of a solution i would be glad to hear it by the way, I have an Alcatel One Touch phone.

Check the following: 1) If you Turns off the Phone and then connect
to the USB cable it won't display any data, just emit a sound

2) If you turn On the phone. You'll hear a sound and the "File explorer"
window will appears, but Not data..like my phone has 32 GBs not shown

3) If you Turned On the Phone, but is unlock-Won't show anyConnection

4) When you said it works before..At that time did you install any Alcatel
program in your PC: Because what it makes my Sam-Gs7 connect
to the USB is the Samsung Kies3 app. Installed on the computer

Ensure you are using a usb cable that handles data and not just charging. (They do exist) Try a different usb cable and/or usb port on pc. Ensure you have the latest drivers installed on your pc.

Boot into recovery and wipe system cache partition.

Is there any damage to the port? If certain connectors are damaged or dirty, the port may allow the phone to charge, but it won't connect to a PC to transfer data.
