Personal dictionary not working proeperly on Motorola G 2nd Gen (2014)

I upgraded to Android 6 Marshmallow and after awhile the personal dictionary stopped working properly. I enter a word and a shortcut but, depending on the shortcut, it may or may not show on the suggestions bar above the keyboard.

Specifically, if 1 enter m4-mad-34 for bus my "word" 400254 (the number of the bus stop), the shortcut, m4-mad-34 will appear (or the other m... entries), if I enter nycc, New York City will appear.

Any idea what happened and how to fix it? Motorola has no clue.

Hi, what keyboard are you using? the stock one with the device or one from the play store? also is there an app update that took place recently for the keyboard?

Since this posting things have become worse. The shortcut no longer works at all when it come to numbers as "words". Previously if I entered the complete short cut m4-mad-34 for bus, my "word" 400254, would show, now nothing. My phone's apps have upgraded again. I contacted Motorola 3rd Tier tech support and they have no clue, blame it on Android.

Not very friendly to users relying on public transit.
