Does anyone know how to set up the email so that when I delete a mail on the phone it also deletes on the yahoo server and vice versa?

It's the usual procedure but you set up as an IMAP account on your devices

Hi,
I'm new to the Android world and I guess that I needed to create an account in order to reply . Unfortunately I have Verizon/Yahoo email and it doesn't support IMAP, so I guess for the time being I'll need to delete emails in two places.

Thanks for registering! Do you have Verizon DSL? I saw that their email service is still stuck with POP3 only.:-\

But I also saw this thread: https://forums.verizon.com/t5/High-Speed-Internet/IMAP-settings/td-p/377833. Try those IMAP settings (you'll have to enter them manually), and see if it works.

I have Verizon FIOS. I tried the settings in the link but they didn't work.

It sounds like Verizon/Yahoo is just limited to POP3, then. If it's important to you, consider migrating to a different email provider, like Gmail. You can set up Gmail to import all of your Yahoo mail--I do that with my old Yahoo account (which I use as my address to register on websites, so that my Gmail account doesn't get inundated with spam).
