Just switched from Windows Phone to Android (Xperia Z5) and been missing a few basics.
Like before, any upcoming event in my calendar for the next day would be displayed on the lockscreen (as well as the homescreen). Same with small icons with numbers for unread email/Skype message etc.

Now I get how the notifications on Android work and differ, however I'd like to at least be able to see upcoming events of the day/next day without having to launch the calendar first. Is there a way? I tried Dashclock widget though it doesn't seem to work anymore...

Hi, are you using the stock calendar app that came with the phone, as it should have a widget to select? also you can set reminders for calendar events so they will flash up in your notification panel / lockscreen.
