How do i reset the pattern on my note 7 not a factorreset.

Chanded my pattern and forgot it. New phone just got it

Go online with a separate device and log into Device Manager thru your Google account, if you set it up, there you can change your pattern to a pin or password and then log in. If you didn't set it up, and your device isn't encrypted, you should be able to fail the pattern about 10 times and be asked for your Google login. If you're encrypted and/or your device warns that it will factory reset your device if you continue to fail the pattern, you're SOL. The only way back in is to factory reset. Be warned using the physical buttons to factory reset will prompt the need for you to enter the gmail credentials that were last synced with the device to gain access. Without that email and password you still won't be able to access the device even after a factory reset.
