I am completely stumped on this. I ordered two QI receivers, one for my S3, one for my S5, to use with the Samsung Wireless Charging pad. The S3 works fine, plopped it down and it started charging. The S5 will not do anything, no notifications, no wireless charging, nada. I have tried 2 different Qi receivers (thinking the first was defective). I borrowed another S5 to test with both receivers, still didn't work. I even tried a second Samsung charger, no luck. The phone was centered too.
Today, I put the S3 on the charger to get the charger to "turn on", and then I quickly swapped it out with the S5, and voila, the S5 was charging. I took the S5 off the charger for a few seconds (for the charger to "turn off"), and put it back on. No luck, it wont charge again. There's got to be a setting on the phone to tell the charger to turn on, but I can't find it. It's strange that a quick swap will work and trick the phone. Can anyone help me with this? I am lost how to fix this.

I didn't think the S5 was set up for that? Interesting the S3 worked.

As far as I'm aware, the S5 doesn't come with a Qi receiver. You can buy back covers with Qi receivers for it, or you can buy separate Qi receivers. (The difference is that some covers aren't thicker than the stock cover, and they position perfectly - no taping to the battery.) (The receivers are cheap - $10 and up and, aside from build quality, they're ll the same.)
