My GooglePlay services is taking up 1.73 GB on my LG android phone.

Why? I only use the phone for calls, messages, Facebook, email and occasional web searches.I added an SD card, but you can't move the aps that come on the phone to it, so it's not helped. My husband disabled bluetooth and that helped for a few days. Google Play went down. But in a few days, it went back up. I believe it's having a party on my phone.

If your phone is rooted you can download a slim google play to add with you custom recovery like CWM or TWRP. Based on your post you may not understand what I mean so another route you can go is to download an app called "Move app to SD card" which will allow you to move the apps that you want to. As far as google play going down can you be more specific about what happened?

I should have said the numbers indicating the space it was taking up went down...from 1.2 GB to a few mb. But went back within days. I may have found a temporary fix in the link Javier P sent below.
