Factory reset Moto g 1st

[AC Question]

Hi,
I have had my Moto g 1st generation for some time, it's my one and only smart phone I've ever had.
I woud be grateful for advice on a factory reset, I have saved contacts to Gmail.
The phone itself is playing up, and I do not recognize many of the android apps now on it.
If I was to reset woud it wipe out any software that may be tracking my activities, don't worry I'm not doing anything illegal it's just the thought of someone having access.

Hi, welcome to the forums. Yes, a factory reset should remove any spy app installed in your phone.

Welcome to Android Central! The main exception would be if the malware had installed itself to the root, which won't go away with a factory reset. You'd have to reinstall the firmware to get rid of that.
